E’DE LOVE : music, love and Cologne
The event-label E’DE COLOGNE, will release it’s first CD on the 10th anniversary of the correspondent party series. The release comes along like a techno-bible in jet black and glaring red and documents the history of Colognes electronic music scene between 1999 and now.
The black and white photos of the artists could not be more charismatic. The offset paper literally seems to absorb the pictures, so that it does not have to let them go ever again. Solely the graphic design with it’s contrasts in pantone red and the interview text, which works like a play, breaks the stern rhythm of the photo series.
The CD opens with a ambient dubby intro by newcomer CHEVALLIER, followed by a minimal track from TRIPLE R and a playful disco anthem by NIESWAND. The MODERNIST manages to carry the sounds so typical for him in his ‘Lost In Music’ track before the 7th track fades in: the legendary seven year old MAYER/THOMAS remix which rocks in the typical Cologne techno manner. Just to say goodbye with the JUSTUS KÖHNCKE and Marianne Rosenberg track ‘Lieder der Nacht’ with so much love and emotion, that it brings tears into your eyes. Ah and yes, 1 Euro of each sold copy goes to the AIDS-Hilfe Köln.
E’ DE LOVE: Love can be so beautiful!

Press review:

Spanning a decade of techno music and culture in Cologne, Germany, the E’DE COLOGNE event label, with distribution from techno powerhouse Kompakt, will release its first book and compilation album entitled E’de Love. The book reads like a who’s-who of the German electronic music scene, with 36 pages of photographs and musical contributions from the likes of Michael Mayer, Ada, Strobocop, and Tobias Thomas, to name a few. In addition to the actual product, when you purchase E’de Love one Euro will go to benefit the AIDS-Hilfe Köln foundation which helps fight HIV and AIDS in Cologne. Now that’s real love.  (XLR8R)

Entitled E’DE LOVE, the package will be released to commemorate ten years of E’DE COLOGNE’s promotional activities. The single disc compilation is set to feature some of the city’s most beloved electronic music producers. Scene doyenne Ada has donated her recent ‘Lovestoned’ collaboration with Raz Ohara, while Michael Mayer and Tobias Thomas contribute two previously released tracks. There is still plenty of new material for hardcore Cologne addicts to get their teeth into, though, with Traum boss Riley Reinhold (AKA Triple R), André Kraml, Popnoname and The Modernist all composing fresh tracks for the compilation. Karaoke Kalk boss Strobocop even appears with his first production in 13 years, while Justus Köhncke finishes off the CD with the epic ‘Lieder Der Nacht’, which is a collaboration with German Schlager singer and 1982 Eurovision entrant Marianne Rosenberg.
The 36-page book will contain plenty of specially commissioned black and white photos of the contributing artists, as well as chronicling the history of the city’s electronic music scene from 1999 onwards. (Resident Advisor)

Wer auch nur ein Jahr in Köln gelebt und der E’de Cologne dabei einen Kurzbesuch abgestattet hat, sollte sich CD und Heftchen unbedingt in seinen Plattenschrank stellen. (SPEX)
